Jetanin Hospital
The family of ‘Khun Pluen, Rubkwan Bunnag Tangudtaisak and Khun Kawin Tangudtaisak’ is here to share a story of happiness, beginning with a consultation with a specialist doctor at Jetanin. At the ending of the story, the family welcomes ‘Nong Paetee and Nong Paeta Bunnag Tangudtaisak, twin boys who are their most unexpected miracle.
Jetanin: When did you plan to have a baby?
Khun Kawin: “In the first year we did not want to have a baby yet. We wanted to live together during our honeymoon phase in England first. After a year, we tried things naturally but I never had a positive result. So we had “the baby talk”.”
“During one vacation, we came back to Thailand to have an exam. I remember that I searched for the word ‘Hospital for infertility issues’ (in Thai -‘โรงพยาบาลมีบุตรยาก’) and Jetanin popped up, so we decided to come here for a consultation.
Jetanin: From the diagnosis, what were the causes of your and your husband’s infertility issues? What treatment method did the doctor use?
Khun Pluen: “I found that I had high prolactin levels which stops me from ovulating. Usually my menstrual periods are already irregular. During the treatment, the doctor gave me a drug to reduce prolactin levels so that I could ovulate normally. Then we calculated the fertile days.”
“I went back to England but I still didn’t get pregnant. After a year we came back to see the doctor again. He suggested we try IUI, which we did twice without any success. I did not give up and I told myself that it was okay and that I would try again. Later the doctor suggested ICSI but I told him I wanted one more chance to conceive naturally. So he gave me a drug to stimulate the ovulation again but it wasn’t successful. So we came back for ICSI.
Jetanin: Finally you got pregnant and it is a twin pregnancy!
Khun Pluen: “We are so indescribably happy. We were already very happy knowing I’m pregnant. But with this news, we looked at each other and asked, ‘is this true? Are we really having twins? What should we do?’ (laughter). We asked each other these questions every day even Nong Paetee and Nong Paeta are 1 year old already.
Jetanin: Lastly, what suggestions would you like to give to other couples who have not succeeded?
Khun Pluen: “People who have never experienced this will never understand how it feels to try and fail. Other people can give support but everything depends on ourselves. We have to change the way we look at life. Jetanin helped us understand this.”
“We walked into Jetanin to create a new miracle for our life, to fill happiness into our life. If the miracle didn’t, you have to know that it is fine too, we can still be happy. Think positive. Do not think that if we can’t have a baby, it will be the end of our lives. Because if you have that mindset you will not make it to the finish line.”
“The more stress you put on yourselves the worse it gets. I would like to urge every couple to be there to support and encourage each other.”
