Jetanin: How did you find out about Jetanin and Dr. Pinyo?
Nguyen Do Quynh Chao: “I tried IVF treatment in Vietnam but failed. The baby’s heart wasn’t functioning, so I had a miscarriage. I was extremely upset at that time. The doctor in Vietnam suspected that it might have been caused by an unhealthy embryo. So he recommended PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis) to be done in Thailand because it wasn’t available in Vietnam. He recommended Jetanin and Dr. Pinyo because he knew Jetanin and the doctor.”
Jetanin: What were Dr. Pinyo’s recommendations about the treatment?
Nguyen Do Quynh Chao: “Since I had the miscarriage, the doctor said I should try PGD together with IVF treatment. PGD can indicate whether the embryo is healthy or not before being put in the uterus cavity. If it is healthy, miscarriages can be prevented. With this method I can get the strongest and the healthiest embryo. Apart from avoiding miscarriages, the doctor also explained that PGD could also prevent Down syndrome babies and it was suitable for people with genetic disorders in the family. In addition, it worked with people who had failed from trying IVF so many times before.”
Jetanin: Did you have any worries or side effects from the treatment?
Nguyen Do Quynh Chao: “I admit that I was stressed out and worried because of the previous failed attempt. It caused me a lot of grief. I had to learn to be strong. I had no side effects from the treatment at all. It was more about managing my emotional state.”
Jetanin: How did Dr. Pinyo help you out?
Nguyen Do Quynh Chao: “I have to say that I was really impressed with the doctor. He was really kind and friendly. He made me feel like family. So I felt good and didn’t worry too much. He was always supportive and very clear in his suggestions. It made me understand him easily.”
Jetanin: How did you feel when you found out you had a healthy pregnancy?
Nguyen Do Quynh Chao: “When I found out I was pregnant, I was so happy that I broke into tears. I was so overjoyed that wanted to shout out loud! I went back to Vietnam to have a pregnancy test. When I knew that it was successful and our baby was healthy, I immediately contacted an interpreter in order to let the doctor know the good news. I’m wholeheartedly thankful for the doctor who saved us from another disappointment.”
All through our talk with this Vietnamese couple, we have seen that happiness that cannot be fully explained by words. We also feel a part of this happiness every single time.
